Baggage

In general, Silver Airways will accept up to two pieces of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 50 pounds (23 kg) per bag and a maximum outside dimension of 62 inches (157 cm) per bag in exchange for the applicable service fees set forth below. Additional checked bags or any bags that exceed these allowable weights and dimensions are subject to additional fees. Outside dimension of a bag is equal to the width + height + depth of the bag added together.

Bag fees apply at any point where bags are checked. For a trip that includes one or more connections, bags will be checked to your final destination, and the fee for checking a bag from your origin to your destination will apply. For a trip that includes a voluntary stopover, your bags will be checked to your stopover point, where you will collect your bags. When you resume travel, you may check your bags again, subject to applicable fees from the new point of check-in to the destination.

Some customers are exempt from certain checked baggage service fees as indicated in the list below (bags must meet weight and size restrictions):

  • Silver Airways SunPac passengers
  • MileagePlus® Premier® Platinum, Premier Gold and Premier1K® members; United Global ServicesSM members; and Star Alliance Gold members get up to three checked bags free.
  • United MileagePlus Premier Silver and Star Alliance® Silver members get one checked bag free.
  • United BusinessFirst®, United First®, United Business® and United Global FirstSM customers get up to three checked bags free.
  • United Airlines Presidential PlusSM primary Cardmembers get their first and second checked bags free. MileagePlus Explorer and OnePass Plus primary Cardmembers get their first checked bag free. See united.com/chasebag for details.
  • Any customers traveling on full-fare United Economy® tickets get up to two checked bags free.
  • Active U.S. military personnel and their accompanying dependents, not traveling on official business, get up to three checked bags free.

Fees apply for certain United Economy fares between the destinations indicated below based on dates of purchase and travel. Fee amounts are in U.S. dollars.
