Sunlight Air expands fleet with new ATR 72-600 Aircraft, strengthening domestic connectivity

With its lighter structure, optimised speed and an engine designed for short sectors, the ATR 72-600 is, by far, the most fuel efficient regional aircraft. ATR’s fuel burn advantage drives lower costs and emissions and makes it the optimal aircraft for regional markets.

ATR reported a gross order intake of 60 aircraft in 2025, from nine customers across nine countries, including double-digit commitments from Air Algérie and UNI Air – 16 and 19 ATR 72-600s respectively. Net orders reached 50 aircraft, bringing the company’s backlog to over 160 units.
